AFP-Wisconsin: Underly’s State of Education Address Follows Failed Results
Madison, WI — As State Superintendent Jill Underly delivers her 2026 State of Education Address, Americans for Prosperity–Wisconsin (AFP–WI) called on her to account for declining standards, stalled reading results, and the widest racial student achievement gap in the country.
AFP-WI State Director Megan Novak issued the following statement:
“Wisconsin families don’t need another speech. They need results. Instead of raising the bar, Jill Underly’s DPI lowered it and now parents can’t track whether their child or their school is actually improving. That is not the transparency parents need to make the best decision for their children. Our kids deserve high standards, proven reading instruction, and the freedom for families to choose a school that works.”
“AFP-WI will keep fighting for education freedom, real accountability, and policies that put kids first. Wisconsin can do better.”
